I couldn’t be happier with this lens. In the last year I purchased a 50mm Summicron R and wanted an affordable 35mm lens to compliment it. The Mandler is exactly that. It’s so similar in rendering , macro/micro contrast and sharpness that I feel almost like I’m using the same lens. The Mandler just has a bit more character in the field curvature. My only regret is that I didn’t realize you get a discount on the lens hood when you purchase and ship it with the lens. I also owned a thypoch simera and a Voigtlander ultron (the older spherical version) and I much prefer this lens. Odds are you are looking at this lens because you like character and vintage rendering. You will be happy with it if so.
