We started using this for our son with speech and it has been game changed! I would love to have add on packs for specific sounds like ch, sh, s blends, etc. 10/10 recommend! Plus the printables make it even better!

Learning curve

For the most part, this is a decent set. Several of the words were confusing, so you really need to download the words list to know what they are supposed to be. As a homeschool mom of 8 years, some of the words don't make a lot of sense for young learners. For example, thistle was included for the T's, although when young eyes look at it, they either identify it as a flower or plant. There is also an arrow to identify U in the word up, although it was originally identified as an arrow, but could also be used for left/right/up/down. And the x words were a little disappointing. All of the x words have x at the end, like box/fox/fix/six. I would have preferred at least a few words with x as a beginning sound, like x-ray or xylophone, which are usually included in alphabet lists for little ones. I believe this will be a learning curve for me as an educator, but overall, my kids enjoyed the visual aspect and guessing/reguessing what the pictures represent, so that's a plus. Some of the pieces are very small and look fragile, like the pen or ukulele. So I would also keep that in mind in case your little one is a little rougher.
