This Shaman Mask is by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Raymond Shaw. The mask is hand-carved in red cedar and painted in red acrylic with graphite. The mask has been finished with brown horsehair, horsehide and cedar bark.
A finishing knife was used on the surface of the piece, while the graphite accentuates the textural surface.
