I purchased both the Lightening and Shading Reference Guides. I love the thoroughness of the guides and color examples. The Lightening Guide is actually two Guides - one for Winsor & Newton and the other for Gamblin! I was able to finally get the correct color for my evening silhouetted trees. Very helpful!

Overall a great tool to imagine new ways to mix color. I love it. As with the shade mixing book, some of the colors appeared a little off to me in the printed version, but that was no problem.

The lighting and shadow reference guides have been incredibly helpful. My favorite, though, is the limited palette guide—especially because it includes several colors that simply aren’t available in other brands.
