Solid salmon/steelhead rod

The rod performs great and I have had no issues. I give it 4 stars because the threaded reel capture is definitely cheap. For this brand, I would expect more, and for this one piece that a rod owner uses on a regular basis, a more solid part would not add much cost but would add a lot of user satisfaction. The two piece construction is useful given the length of the rod. I can tell St. Croix put thought into having the length of insertion be longer than other rods and that gives a solid connection for casting heavy buzz bombs from the end of a 9 ft rod.

St. Croix Rocks!!!

I own several St. Croix rods including Triumph, Eyecon, Premier and Panfish (all spinning) and these are great rods! Bought the Salmon and Steelhead Triumph for fishing great lakes Salmon and it is serving its purpose well! I will continue to use exclusively St. Croix Rods for my rigs.
