Dr Alexander Garden, born in January 1730 in Birse, Aberdeenshire, was the son of a clergyman and developed an early interest in both medicine and natural history. His legacy as a botanist lives on today through the beautiful gardeniaflower, which was named in his honour.
Inspired by this heritage, the rich and elegant scent of gardenia
