Tone for days
What a beautiful set of pickups the Alnico 2 plus humbuckers are. The have a really good bark but can be beautifully clean and really does go from mellow to beast mode. Love them in my SG.

Alnico 2 plus!!
These and the alnico 2 classic are my favorite sets. They each do their job well. When I need a little more oomph and power the plus is my go to, when I need to bring it down for a less aggressive and more classic tone, the classic set is my go to. I ripped out a set of $500 custom-buckers that came in my LP. To rush some toneriders in! Great job 👏

Excellent Tone, but DCR Variance Makes Balancing Difficult
I would like to share my objective findings and experience with the Tonerider AC2 Plus set.
First and foremost, the overall build quality is exceptional. Sonically, it delivers a powerful output that remains highly transparent, bright, and possesses a distinctly unique character. I am genuinely impressed with how it sounds.
However, I do want to point out an unexpected discrepancy regarding the DCR specifications. Using highly accurate precision instruments in our university's electrical engineering laboratory, I carefully measured both units and recorded the following:
- Neck position: 8.69 kOhm (Website specification: 8.3 kOhm)
- Bridge position: 8.93 kOhm (Website specification: 8.9 kOhm)
I was quite surprised by how close these values are to one another. Because the DCR of the neck is significantly higher than advertised and almost matches the bridge, adjusting the string clearance to properly balance the volume between the two positions has proven to be quite difficult.
In conclusion, it is a fantastic-sounding set of exceptional quality, but the unexpectedly close DCR values make the height adjustment and balancing process much more challenging than it should be.
