Everything Presence Pro

I've tried a fair few of these and the Presence Pro is the first one I've not had to fight with. It picks you up when you're sat perfectly still, which is where most sensors fall over, and you can tell it to ignore the bits of a room you don't want setting it off — a window, a ceiling fan. That took minutes to set up. Being able to run it off a single network cable is the other big win. No Wi-Fi to drop out, no batteries to change, and it appeared in Home Assistant straight away with nothing to configure. One small thing: the temperature reading runs a touch warm. Fine for a rough idea, not for anything precise. Customer service is incredible. I managed to lose one of the ceiling mount clips — entirely my own doing — and rather than selling me a replacement, they just posted one out free of charge. No quibbling, no proving I'd bought it. That's the sort of thing that makes you buy from a company again.

I only have a couple of weeks of use of this but so far it has been better than every other presence sensor I have tried. It is fast at detection and has never lost me no mater how still I was.

Better than expected – precise and reliable

I bought three Everything Presence Pro units for Home Assistant, and they have delivered exactly what I hoped for – perhaps even a little more. Presence detection is fast and reliable, while the configurable zones make automations far more precise than with ordinary motion sensors. PoE and the local Home Assistant integration are major advantages. My main wish would be slightly longer practical range. In a larger room, one unit may not quite cover every area from a sensible mounting position, even after adjusting its placement and angle. A second unit may therefore be needed for complete coverage. Within its range, however, it performs very well. Once configured, it simply works. I am very satisfied with the purchase and would happily buy them again.
