Blue beryl, also known as aquamarine, is a variety of the mineral beryl that gets its blue color from traces of iron in its crystal structure. It is primarily composed of beryllium aluminum silicate and is formed in pegmatite veins through the crystallization of magma or hydrothermal fluids.
