FiiO BTR5 2021 Bluetooth DAC

I haven't been an advocate for bluetooth with my audio, always using quality cables. I heard so many good reviews on this BTR5 I took the plunge and I'm glad I did. Small enough, light and easy to operate with a great battery lifespan. I decided to get a balanced cable for my Fiio FH7 iems as this can accommodate that. Wow, bluetooth with APTXHD is really good. They have no trouble driving iems and headphones (tested up to 300ohms). Good range from source and comes with a clip to easily put in any pocket on you. I can't wait to see how Fiio tops this one.

I work remotely quite a bit and can't take my DAC/AMP stack with me. But with this amazing little nugget I can get pretty close in sound quality and drive some heavier cans while on the go. I only wish it could also transmit bluetooth as well. If it could transmit LDAC (which neither my PC or macbook can do), it'd truly be perfect.

Just like the old one but better. I don’t use MQA so I’m not sure with how that works. Both wireless and cable with awesome with my MacBook, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Yes I did some what reluctantly plug it into a windohs 11 thing and it worked fine too :innocent: It will drive most headphones well except stuff like my Dekoni Blues they are listenable but really need more power. Balanced output is where it shines!
