The design work well with the older Athearn locamotives I installed them in. Price was well worth the purchase, would've cost me twice as much if I had made the myself. They made it easier to figure out the voltage range and style/size LED to use base on what they have available.

Great lionel toy train light.

Had train that never had a headlight. Disassembled the locomotive and found it had no room to put a bulb. Reading the web learned of Evan Designs ED'S with diodes. Hobbyist stated he put them in all his trains. Decided I would get on for the train without a light. Filled the lens down to give room for the white LED, fit perfect. Works great. Now for a caboose to have red side lights.
