Peter Luger Extra Thick Cut Bacon

Best bacon ever, can't wait to get more. Flavorful, not too salty, delicious in dishes such as red cabbage

I purchase thick slice bacon normally from my local grocery store but saw this brand bacon on a popular food show and was excited to try. So much so that I purchased 4 packs. After cooking I was underwhelmed. There was a lot of fat and very little meat. So while PL looks thicker in the package, once cooked it renders down to the same size bacon that I buy in market at a lesser price with double quantity (note: PL only gives you 5-6 slices per pack). Guess my husband and I will need to roadtrip to New York if we want the authentic PL bacon experience.
