Charter Escape Hat

I've never liked wearing a cap / hat. For some reason, I feel like I just don't look good wearing one. After a long hike under a blazing sun, I decided to give a "summer" hat a try. I decided to order the Charter Escape Hat since it looked ruggedly fashionable and it didn't have those W-I-D-E floppy brims. Without thinking about the size, I ordered a MEDIUM. It fits, but I think I should have ordered a LARGE. I have worn the Charter Escape Hat on several long hikes under the blazing sun and I have been pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are and how they protect my face from the sun. It does not make my head HOT by trapping body heat escaping upwards through the head. I still think I look funny wearing a hat / cap, but I've now gotten to the age where I no longer care what others think about how I look.

Great hat but I do not like the fact that the string comes out and has to be placed either in the front or the back. On my other Charter hats, the string does not come out and when not in use, is simply hidden in the internal pocket.
