Oyster Ergonomic Mouse

Didn't suit my hand, cumbersome for precision work, but still suggest you try one in the shop

Good idea, but for my hands and body it was actually worse than the original mouse in terms of ergonomics and pain when using. I really wanted this to work as have shoulder and arm pain and issues from mouse use. The issues I had with the oyster mouse were numerous: Cumbersome as a mouse, terrible for precision work as it doesn't slide easily and the 'whole hand' shape is the opposite of what's required for precision use of a mouse (more or less finger tips needed for precise work), left click too strong and right click so light as to be both nearly imperceptible and/or broken, right click issue made inadvertent 'double' clicks (ie left and right together) commonplace, silly sharp 'rim' on left side where thumb naturally tried to sit (for right hander) when the mouse was angled up even at first click, extra pain in pinky and ring finger on right hand due to need to 'extend' hand to cover the sheer width and size of the mouse, and significantly reduced effectiveness and productivity due to the sheer cumbersome and unreliable use of it as a mouse. It was woeful to use for drawings and accurate placement of cursor etc for email and documents and as a result I'd estimate that everything I did when I tried using it took 1.5 to 4 times longer and with a significant rise in frustration. Errors when using ? Way more as a result of issues described above. Overall, very disappointing. Giving two stars and not one as I suspect it would be okay for some people, but it is very much as case of horses for courses. I had to take a punt and buy off internet as none were available anywhere near where I live. I'd recommend that anyone interested go into their shop and try one for yourself first to know where it suits you. Sit Back & Relax (Kate) was good to deal with and was helpful, so no issues there. It's just the mouse itself has been a major disappointment for me, at least. If you've hand, arm, neck, back issues etc from using a computer mouse, then I'd still definitely recommend you go into the shop if you can and have a test run, as the oyster mouse may very well work for you.

Lose connection too often

The mouse frequently loses contact with its dongle after an hour or two, even when it is only 10cm away. It then seems to think for a while then reconnects. Means that I have to have my old mouse on standby. The fact that they include an instruction sheet about this in the box should be warning enough that the manufacturers need to properly address the problem. Overall, too frustrating considering the premium price paid.
