Prior to the Qutest, I was using my Denafrips Ares II and Mojo2. I preferred the Mojo2 for its energy and impact, while I love the mellow yet detailed approach provided by the Ares II. I found the two DACs married in the Qutest. Warmth and musicality, especially with the “Warm” filter (I do not use the high frequency roll off filters at all, as I already have a warm sounding system) and all the detail and drive of the Mojo2. Yet there was more! The soundstage became deep, layered, instruments stood out on their own while participating in the larger whole. It is a major step up for my old stereo, comprised of excellent equipment.
Associated equipment:
-Creek 5350SE
-Castle Inversion 15 loudspeakers
-Bluesound Node 2i running Roon
I absolutely love how this DAC has revolutionized my system!

I absolutely love this DAC. The difference between my Mojo2 and the Qutest is not subtle. Even my Denarfrips Ares II doesn't come close. The energy, spatial information, and realism just blew me away from the first moment I hit play on my Bluesound Node 2i. Without getting into too much detail, I could not believe the clarity and emotional impact that it had. I just love it and would recommend it, absolutely.
