At first my dog would not go near it. Very afraid of it. It has been horribly hot lately, so I covered it with a darker color towel and the only place and way she got her treats was to lay on it. The very next day, she was lying on it by herself. I think if you subdued the color some, and gave it a bumpy top it might be more inviting.
