Sizing issues

I've worn Danskos since 2006 years, and checked all 4 of my current pairs before ordering - they are all size 38. This pair says it is a size 38, and is WILDLY large; the shoes do not stay on my feet when I try to walk. Emailed and instead of options, I got a response about sizing that I could have written; I’ve worn these for 20 years, I know the ins and outs of how they should fit. This was my first time ordering online, and it was absolutely a mistake that I won’t be making again.

sizing wasn’t right for me, I usually wear a 9 so went with 8. 5-9…way too small so I will go bigger next pair. There wasn’t as much color as in the picture, and they had way too much “patent”.
