Blue based reds, like caplillary, dark mauve and red rum can be used on their own ( capillary is brilliant for capillaries around the nose etc) or can also be adjusted into warmer ranges by using the Light Sienna and Warm Ochre adjusters. PPI Skin Illustrator Activator is the special proprietary blend of ethanol and isopropyl alcohol and is used to activate all of the Skin Illustrator palettes. It is NOT 99% alcohol. Why use this and not IPA? While you can use 99% alcohol/IPA, Activator has a more mild fragrance and is much easier on the senses for your actor, the colour lasts longer on the skin too. Activator activates the make-up pigments in the Palettes!
