Fire Plugs - Fire Starter Tinder

This is the first time I ever tried starting a fire with Flint or Farrell rod or whatever it’s called. It took me longer to figure out how to make that thing spark than it did to start a fire one swipe, and this stuff just started burning. I thought it was a gimmick or you had to actually know what you’re doing but no this stuff is better than what they say in their ad even a moron like me got it to work first try

Decent amount and size for price point for what it is. Works great. I’m not going to test the rain theory until it rains so I can’t speak to that but I’m certain it does everything it claims it does.

Love these fire starters. The will be with me this fall in the high country of Colorado. With a grill/bic type lighter they ignite in a instant. However no so much with a cheap magnesium type fire starter that produces a minimal spark. I tried it at least 200 times throwing a spark on the fluffed up firestarter. It never caught fire in calm, dry conditions. So I’m going to try the more robust 1/2” Ferro type rod with a better striker that throws more and hotter sparks. I’m pretty sure it will catch quickly. Stay tuned.
