Battlepack 45L

When you want to bring a lot, but don’t need absolutely everything

I picked up the 45L as a companion to my larger Battlepack, specifically for shorter trips or when I need an additional carry-on. It’s quickly become one of those bags that I find myself reaching for all the time. I recently took it with me for a half marathon trip, and it was the perfect size. I was able to pack multiple changes of clothes, two pairs of running shoes because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to race in, recovery slides, and a beach towel for some post-race time at the beach and park. I also had plenty of room for all the snacks and other goodies I wanted for race prep the day before, recovery afterward, and the road trip home. Basically, everything I needed for the entire weekend went into one bag without feeling like I was trying to overstuff it. That’s really what I like about the 45L. It has enough capacity to carry a surprising amount of stuff without being unnecessarily huge. It works equally well as a standalone bag for a shorter trip or as an additional carry-on when I need more space. It’s another great example of Datsusara getting that balance between capacity, organization, and functionality right. The 66L is the bag I grab when I need to bring everything. The 45L is the one I grab when I want to bring a lot, but don’t need to bring absolutely everything.

Exactly what I needed! I go from work to BJJ and I needed a bag to hold it all. This one is perfect.

I love the Battlepack from Datsusara. This is my second one and the first one lasted me over 10 years. I beat that thing up too. Took it on a backing trip to Thailand and use it multiple times a week for Jiu Jitsu. On top of all that, it looks like this bag is even more reinforced than the previous one. While other companies are finding ways to maximize profits through worse products, these guys continue to raise the bar.
