Metechi (Hardneck) Garlic

Metechi Garlic

I received this garlic as well as several soft neck varieties. I planted at the beginning of November and am anxiously awaiting summer to see how it does. I do prefer the hard neck varieties to the soft neck. I found the Medici to have larger cloves, which made them easier to separate, and in turn, making planting easier.

I save back my own seed every year to replant, but like to try new varieties and see if they are worth saving for future. I will know in July 2026. I am impressed with the clove size. Larger than Music, had to dib the holes a little wider.

I ordered more of the Metechi garlic this season since it grew so well for me this season. I enjoy the flavor very much and use it in a lot of recipes. I have it planted in a raised bed and look forward to a great crop next Spring.
