Pop-Up Port-A-Bug®

The Port-A-Bug habitat was helped in many ways! I first used this little habitat to hatch my praying mantis pods. After they hatched and were released, I used the habitat to transfer a butterfly that had a bent wing. I’m happy to say that my little “injured” painted lady is now doing very well as she feasts on a slice of orange. 🍊

We got twenty caterpillars and we ended up with twenty beautiful butterflies. I will be getting more.

Very glad I bought this! As an avid butterfly raiser, I often have many chrysalises (and many butterflies emerging) in a single larger habitat. This small pop-up is super convenient for transporting newly emerged butterflies for release without having to move the chrysalis habitat along with them. I will probably also use it for wild captures and small species rearing. Folds up and stores easily just like the larger ones.
