During my first year of teaching elementary art, I wrote a little poem to help my students learn the names of LINES, an important element of art. The poem was called Larry the Line.
I'm excited to share that Larry the Line has now expanded from a once-short poem to a children's book that I have written and illustrated.

Funny, Direct, and Student-Approved 😊
Engaging, funny, and wonderfully direct! It breaks down key concepts so effortlessly that my students are constantly eager to pick it up. It has quickly become a classroom favorite that we enjoy reading over and over.

Huge hit for our K-1 and 2-3s!
We had so much fun reading and making lines! K-1 are making line lanterns from posterboard and 2-3s had a sub so reading and making larry the line paper chains was the perfect activity while I was away! Thanks Cassie!

Awesome book & fun to read to students!
I have been teaching line designs for over 15 years and “Larry the Line” is a fun new way for me to teach lines to my elementary students. We love to look at all the different types of lines in this book! Thank you Cassiefor understanding art teachers and making it fun!
