Paying for convenience
Heard about this from other runners and gave it a try. The texture is great, not like the other goopy gels. That being said, there is literally zero difference between this and a container of 100% pure maple syrup that I have because that's all it is! It's fantastic fuel, easy on the stomach, and gives you a smooth energy boost without the chemical aftertaste of standard gels.
You're paying a hefty markup purely for the convenience of a tear-open packet. If you don't mind filling up your own soft flask at home, buy a gallon of Grade A Dark and save your cash. But if you're lazy like me and want the pocket-sized convenience on race day, it's good.

My favorite energy gel
I love the organic maple syrup and the pick me up it gives on my bike rides or brisk walks. The flavor is excellent and very easy on the gut. Just right. I also enjoy the flavor with the infused organic coffee. A real treat!

GREAT alternative!
Given my dietary needs this gel is a wonderful alternative to the traditional gels that I have used in the past. Still experimenting with the various flavors but so far enjoying them all.
