I switched to all wool athletic wear 15 years ago, but lately could not find a cropped legging, which is a necessity for the hot summers where I live. These are ideal for warm-weather workouts, dog walks, errands, life . They are compressive enough to stay put (no waistbaind roll-down) without ever being too constricting. Over a year of near-daily wear on the first pair and they still have no pilling or noticeable wear - I only bought a second pair because I needed to size down after losing weight. They're a bit of an investment for me, price-wise, but considering how much I wear them and how well they've held up, it's very good value.
