This is my “where have you been all my life” item from GSI. I actually use this at home too. Once I’ve done the pour over, I then unclip the drip from above the cup and place the mesh with the grinds *in* the cup. The mesh is held in place because the clips are on the outside of the cup. This allows the coffee to steep even further. Not only does this allow me to get a richer taste with less grinds, it allows me to have less acidity in my coffee. If you’re a hiking coffee snob (like me) just be aware that the mesh allows the water to pour thru too quickly to do a simple pour over and then be done. But the lightness of the mesh is amazing for the gram weenies who want good coffee.
