Order, and processing with SVS is second to none. I’ve only had a couple days with the sub hooked up so not much to offer in a performance review but I imagine if you’re looking at a sb5000 you already know.

Studio live/music
Not a typical user. Pairing this with 2 large sound reinforcement speakers for both recorded and live music in my home studio.
Picked this over a typical professional sub for the musicality and extended bass.
No issues and exceeds expectations. My wish list would include a high pass filter in addition to straight pass through and a setting for delay.
Overall , incredible build and looks amazing!

The beast has arrived!
I had no intention of getting a sub. I was perfectly happy with my old SB3000. Until I went to an audio expo in my area and I heard the SB5000. The representative gave a presentation using the movie Sinners and to say I was blown away was an understatement. I immediately went home and contacted SVS to see if I could trade up to get it. Of course they obliged and I made it happen. I needed help from my wife to get it into my loft area. It took a while to unbox it because of the sheer weight of the unit. Once I got I calibrated using the phone app and YPAO on my Yamaha receiver I was all set. First up was Top Gun Maverick. The scene in which he is approaching Mach 10 in the beginning was absolutely unbelievable! The bass was so much tighter on this than on the 3000. Which is no slouch. To back track I installed the isolation feet on the sub before I got started. That killed any vibration on the first floor of my home. Needless to say that got the wife acceptance factor. I only wish I could fit another in my space. The sound, fit and finish, and the customer service are all above reproach. I highly recommend this sub. Yes it is pricey but the DSP and the phone app make it worth it.
