Let me start off by saying that these are good boots. Though my use case is maybe different from the originally intended station boot, I would like to explain my 3 star rating to help provide feedback and allow others to understand if this will be a good boot for them. I like Mr. Wilmore and hope that he is very successful. A little about me, I am 5’9”, 180 lbs, and typically wear a size 11-12 boot depending on the brand, my foot measures 11.125” in length. I ordered a size 11.5 and they fit well. I work in a paper mill and have been wearing a different brand of barefoot style steel-toed boots for the past 2 years. Now the review, this boot is wonderfully constructed but for me it wears more like a Muck boot then a true work boot. The upper shaft of the boot is very wide, I was expecting a fit similar to a Wellington boot but these are wider, having a larger opening. I wear standard Dickies shop pants, and my pant legs are barely able to fit around them which causes the leg to eventually ride up to the top of boot after sitting or kneeling. I will be the first to admit that I do not have large calves but the upper shaft looseness causes general sloppy feeling and detracts from the lower boot comfort. Instead of the boot upper shaft moving with my leg, it kind of pings off my shin then off my calf as I walk. Very similar to how some Muck boots feel. The rest of the boot is great. It has nice leather, I love Vibram sole. The wide is good, could be a little bit wider at the toes. I would love to have a toe cap as well, made with the same rubber-like material that is at the heal. Overall, a very nice boot that unfortunately does not work well for me for everyday use. I can see how they would be great for a station boot though. I look forward to future Wilmore boots models. Hopefully a 6” lace up soon. Thank you!

The Alpha V1's are amazing. I've been looking for a while for a minimalist, wide toe box station boot that also had a safety toe and these are it. They're easy and quick to get on, I can fully splay my toes while wearing them, and they're flexible which make crouching and kneeling for long periods much more comfortable. I appreciate that the sole is thick enough to protect my feet but also thin enough to still give me some ground feel that I'm used to in my everyday minimalist shoes. Overall would recommend to anybody that requires a safety toe that also cares about their feet. Customer service has also been top notch.

Perfect fit, I’ve been a barefoot shoe person for about a decade now. Recently started wearing barefoot boots. Also broke into the trades and needed a safety toe barefoot boots. That became difficult to find. I tried some other pairs I wound up loathing. These boots I absolutely LOVE. Ingenious construction & design. Exceedingly comfortable and sturdy. Barely notice the weight of the safety toe because the weight is distributed so well. Couldn’t recommend these boots enough. I’m a customer for life
