Computer Engineering for Big Babies seems to have lost the binary nature of digital electronics
I'm a retired teacher of electronics, and now thinking about whether I can use Computer Engineering for Big Babies with my grandchildren as I’d intended.
Only the DECODER represents input and output data as binary in a way that is consistent with Computer Engineering for Babies and how, without further circuitry, a digital circuit would receive a binary input or use a binary output to drive an LED.
The other five pages represent binary data using multiple colours. In some cases, the representations are time-dependent; pulsating or cycling through a spectrum.
There is a place for multi-colour, pulsating lights. I just don't think the representation of steady binary signals is it.

Lights Only Work When Pressing the Battery Compartment
At first, the lights would not turn on no matter how I toggled the two switches. I even replaced the batteries, but that did not help.
Later, I found that the lights would only come on if I pressed inward on the battery compartment, and sometimes I even had to tap or hit the book lightly to get them to work.
It seems there may be a loose connection or a contact issue in the battery compartment.

Awesome book. Love it.
I love it. My child is still a little young to understand the concept but she treats it like a puzzle book. She loves it. My nephews who the books are probably more age appropriate for loved them as well. They are recreating examples of wedges, and pulleys. My family is asking where I got it and how much it is. I think price was probably the only concern.
