The Pool Care Handbook

I wished I had this when we had our in-ground pool installed in 2008. It would have saved us making many mistakes that affected the plaster. It also cleared up many questions I had on maintaining the chemical balance, water clarity and cleanliness.

Matt, very happy with the handbook and your email messages discussing various pool management techniques. Our pool is salt water, which as you know has its own idiosyncrasies. This is our first pool, we have had it for 6 years. The first season was a steep learning curve, I use reagents to test water chemistry. I find the tables regarding Muriatic acid and bicarbonate use very helpful. I also find the nuances such as alkalinity can be slightly lower in a salt pool. Fortunately, our equipment has been updated as has the pool surface so all is good. But, I will use the manual anytime an issue occurs. I bought the book a few years ago and it’s been very helpful. My daughter and son-in-law are purchasing a new home next month with a pool. They have no idea how to take care of a pool. So I purchased the book and will give it as a gift to them.
