Field Binder A5

interesting design, almost got it right

Having a six ring binder in A5 size is almost a requirement for anyone familiar with FiloFax and other A5 binder systems, and A5 papers that come punched (thinking sketchbook and watercolour papers. ) It's very helpful that the A5 size has binders that you can remove pages and move them to different places. The Lochby gets it mostly right. Their binder has rings which are quite small, about a half an inch in outs ide diameter which leads to the pages having very little room for movement back-and-forth over the rings. A slightly larger, but not too large as to be unaccommodating for other notebooks, would be very helpful. As it is, I do very much enjoy having a six ring binder available to me. In this form factor I'm able to slide in an A5 Midori MD notebook in the back with a plastic cover on it. That's a big plus. While I'm only giving it four stars, it's still a notebook system that I very much do enjoy and will be using regularly.

Five Stars, But Could Be Six

As it stands, the Field Binder A5 is great. That said, a binder version of the A5 Daily Folio would be approaching perfect. Add a back pocket and a few of the place-marker ribbons, and I think we'd be there.
