So much better..
...than big stiff boots, at least for so much warm weather stream wading. I got felt soles and the carbide option, and so far I find the felts are fine. I'll use the felts in only one of the streams i fish--so I don't replant snails or something else in the other streams. Anyway...I love these. So easy in and out of. I wet wade most of the time. I haven't tried them with my neoprene sox (built into wading pants). If they're snug with those, I'll order a size up. My normal shoe size is 10 1/2. I ordered 11, they're great. Whatever--these are unimprovable.

Excellent trail shoe
I have traveled the world in these Axis shoes, and I get compliments and questions about them everywhere I go. They are comfortable and the Vibram soles provide great grip. I just got back from Yellowstone, and they performed excellently, especially on the wet rocks. I wear 9 - 9. 5, and 10 fit the best

I’ve worn these shoes twice. First wading a creek on a warm morning and then while pressure washing my driveway. They worked great for both applications. Much easier to get on and off and more support than my discount water shoes.
