Survived 7 day canoe trip on the Canadian shield
After a test run in the PNW, I used this tent on a 7 day canoe trip on the Canadian shield. Notoriously rocky terrain. With additional lines I was able to pitch it with just rocks and withstand blustering winds. Where I had challenges were narrow clearings with exposed tree roots. Because the tent inner is askew, it was challenging to find exactly the right spot to pitch the tent to avoid exposed tree roots or jagged rocks that were too big to move. I ended up having to shift the tent a few times just so the inner would sit on a comfortable surface. Maybe something like a lined outline of the tent inner on top of the fly can help with this in future iterations.
The other issue I had was with the inner touching the fly. If I didn't get a perfect pitch this would happen in at least one corner and one person would wake up with a wet sleeping bag.

First trip winner
Used on Wind River Mountains trip for first time...went great. Set up the tent once in back yard before the trip and it was very easy to set up. Also straight foward and easy on the trip, even in spots that were not perfectly level. Really like the ability to leave the floor and bug net behind to lighten the load when bug pressure is low. Great product that is thoughtfully designed/optimized! Top quality as well!!

Great Tent, Even Better Customer Service
When I received my X-Mid 2 and got it set up for the first time, I noticed that there was a sizable tear in the bug netting. I reached out to Durston customer service by email with my problem and they took care of it. I received a new tent inner yesterday at no charge to me. You've made a loyal customer out of me.
