I have two large feeders and one standard feeder. I just ordered another standard-size feeder for my breeding pen. The savings in feed costs pay for the feeders. We have a huge number of sparrows that like to pilfer chicken feed.

Wish it worked for us.

We have multiple chickens. They were ranging from 7 months-2 years old when we purchased this feeder 1.5 years ago. Over the course of 1.5 years we have tried and tried to use this but the problem is about 75% of our chickens learned to use it. The other 25% either never learned or were too spooked to get on the step and would only eat when other chickens were on the step and had it open, so they were 100% relying on others to get food. This resulted in about a quarter of our flock losing drastic amounts of weight. We put their regular feeder back in and in about 1-2 weeks they put all the weight back on. We did our homework, we followed instructions, we did research on the internet for any and all tips and tricks, but it just did not work for our homestead flock.

Reliable and long-lasting

This is my second Grandpa's Feeder and I know the rodents cannot get into them and cannot chew through them. Feed stays clean and dry, and spillage is minimal. A great investment for my chickens.
