Float Vests

Not good

Better to get the puddle jumper. This is pointless for ages 1 - 3. Daughter didn’t feel comfortable swimming in it like she does with a puddle jumper.

Better than expected

Got two for my kids. They have a cousin who has one and it seemed like a better fit than the $20 float vests in stores. I was worried that the medium was too big and I wish the sizing didn’t just include age but also weight… though it’s possible that was in the description and I missed. In any event my husband opened the package and told me “they’re way too big”. However, they seem to fit our 2 and 4 year old nicely, both of whom are within the weight recommendation of the jacket. As expected, this style stayed in place better. What I didn’t realize was that all the floatation is around the middle (not all the way up to their neck, like other styles) the result was that the kids stayed in a better position for swimming in the water. They love wearing the jackets. I love that they give me peace of mind. So glad that I got them.

Not what I expected

It's not terrible.. My son is 2 and well within the weight parameters. But this vest definitely doesn't keep his mouth above water, you have to be holding him constantly.. Its nice because it makes him easier to hold (handles and that he's more buoyant).. If he kicks and puts in a little effort he can keep himself up.. But I was hoping he could scoot around on his own in this. And he definitely cannot, someone needs to have hands on him at all times. Also kind of frustrating since I didn't realize this was a problem untill he tried it, and I assume I can't return it now that it's been in the pool..
