Indeterminate: Midnight Plum is an indeterminate variety that produces abundant 4–6 oz fruits with striking color and excellent utility. The tomatoes develop deep purple shoulders that shift to rosy pink where touched by the sun, creating a beautiful contrast. Inside, the flesh is meaty, juicy, and pink with naturally low acidity. I'm only giving 4 stars because the seedlings, all of them, gree so weird. They got the same starting conditions as all my other seeds, but these ones in particular looked so weak and spindly, with oddly distorted stems. However, I planted them anyway just to see, and since going into the ground they've done well! I'm not sure what caused them to look like such deformed little seedlings, but they made up for it later!

Poor Germination
I specifically placed my order with MIgardener for the Midnight Plum tomato and I am super upset that after the wildly long wait I had nearly zero germination. I currently am growing almost twenty varieties of tomato this year, all planted at the same time in the exact same conditions, and these seeds are the only ones without nearly perfect germination. I was hoping for these to be the backbone of my pastes this year but now I have to scramble to start more of my old faithful varieties from old saved seed instead. Super frustrated!
