Infinity Tools Precision Router Dado Jig

This is a very nice jig and I’m glad to have it, but it does have some notable limitations to be aware of. The bushing was too large to fit into my 1-3/8” Bosch bushing template. Most bushings fit with about 0.005” of play for an easy drop-in fit. This bushing in this kit measured 1.385” in some places along the diameter, so a full 0.010” oversized and 0.015” larger than a typical bushing. It was also ever so slightly oblong. Since it’s brass, I was able to carefully sand it down until it fit, but wasted an hour diagnosing and reworking the bushing. Fine sawdust accumulates when cutting MDF which causes the jig to get “stuck” at times. Finally, vibration from the router causes the set screws to loosen repeatedly. I got the best performance by pushing the router against the straight edge (allowing the ball bearings to be the primary mechanism to maintain alignment) and awkwardly holding a vacuum hose close to the jig as I pushed it along the workpiece.
