I have been backpacking and working in various generations of this boot since 1996. All good, very durable and comfortable. Top quality leather upper does not need Goretex in wet conditions. The padding on the inside of the tongue prevents irritation of an old surgical scar. This boot and the Fitzroy are all I need.

The boots are obviously very well made and no complaints in that area. In comparing them with similar Scarpa boots I've had for maybe 30 years, the toe box seems a little narrower, and I've noticed that with them--the old one felt better, but the new one doesn't seem likely to cause any problems.

Fantastic boot!

Fits a lot better than the new updated versions if you have a narrow foot because of the leather sock liner!
