Use a heat gun

I would recommend using a heat gun to melt them.. I 1st tried the water but it took to long ,unless it was boiling and then the plastic is to hot to handle.. don't use gloves, they just stick to them. The plastic stays soft for quite a while . Do small amounts so it doesnt harden before your done. Also the advantage of the heat gun is you can heat them up while you mold so you can smooth out the area . Worked great on a broken Halloween mold I had.
