Easy replacement for a 7 year old DIY Lithium solution

7 years ago, I updated my 48V lead-acid batteries with a DIY solution. I selected the BMS, batteries, and integrated a CAN charger, along with wiring everything. I had some failing cells, and was looking to replace them but wasn’t looking forward to the debugging new wiring. Looking around at todays lithium solution, I find that Lithium Rhino has integrated all the fiddly bits into a nice hermetic package will all the fiddly bits integrated, and provided compatible 12V converter, charger, and status display in a product warrantied for 8 years. This installation was a simple swap for me, and I spent as much time removing and cleaning up years worth of grime as installing the new components. Straight forward, and car performs just as it did with a more reliable State of Charge display and better battery life between charges.

Pros and cons

Naturally, one of the pros is that the golf cart got lighter due to removing the lead acid batteries. I like the feature of being able to check it by Bluetooth. The cons are when I place the order I ask if my package was going to contain specific instructions on how to install the battery pack in my particular golf cart and I was assured it was it seemed like every hurdle I hit I had to ask a question of somebody and they would tell me the answer, but they didn’t tell me the whole story so I had to keep on asking questions and I went through the entire weekend not hearing back from Anybody. Eventually I did get everything working, but I was just disappointed because my Neighbor had purchased a rhino lithium battery and he’s came with specific instructions and they even emailed him instructions.

Fairly easy to install. So far really impressed with the battery.
