Lucky Fours® Santos

These guys sent me a completely new watch when mine broke. Exceptional service - I was not expecting that and I was pleasantly surprised. This one even fits better after the same resizing as last time. Love wearing it to work and always get compliments/asked about it. People are impressed by the quality for being so reasonably priced. When people haven’t heard of the brand I always like to add in that Lucky Fours strips down luxury watches to understand the components and materials and makes the identical watch just without the brand markup. That’s a story I can get behind without being ashamed of a “knock off”.

The watch arrived with multiple cosmetic defects that are unacceptable for a new purchase, especially since I paid an additional $6 for shipping protection. The most noticeable issue is a thin red scratch across the stainless-steel back of the watch. There is also a small silver-colored chip or scratch on the black band where the dark coating has visibly worn away, making the watch appear used or poorly handled. The presentation box also arrived in visibly poor condition, with scuffing, faded areas, and marks across the top that make it look worn and shabby rather than new. Although the watch appears to function properly, the condition it arrived in does not meet reasonable expectations for a new item. Paying extra for shipping protection should have ensured better handling and presentation. Between the scratches, chipped coating, and damaged packaging, the product did not arrive in the condition I paid for or expected.

I’m honestly pretty disappointed with the quality of this watch. At first glance, it looks nice and the design is appealing, but once you actually hold it and wear it, the quality feels much cheaper than I expected. The materials feel flimsy and lightweight, and the watch doesn’t have the solid, substantial feel you would expect from something marketed as an “affordable luxury” watch. The bracelet in particular feels cheap and lacks the durability and sturdiness I was hoping for. Overall, it feels more like a fashion accessory than a genuinely well-built timepiece. For the price, I expected the materials and construction to feel much more premium. Unfortunately, the watch gives off a cheap feel in person that isn’t really communicated by the pictures or marketing. The appearance is nice, but the actual build quality is a major letdown.
