Does the job! I have had this for months tho & do sometimes wonder if the wood is warping/not waterproof enough to be by the sink the way it is long term. But I love that it's not plastic.

I like the concept, but mine grew mold within as week. The problem with making it out of a biodegradable material like wood is that it is biodegradable. Maybe a different type of wood would be more resistant. Note: I live in a very humid place, this would probably work fine if my environment wasn't mold heaven.
