Java's journey begins in Ethiopia, the birthplace of Arabica. In the 1800s, Dutch traders carried it to Indonesia, where it took on its name. In 1991, Dr. Frank Bendaña planted Java on volcanic hillsides in Matagalpa — the beginning of what is now one of Nicaragua's most respected Java programs.

Nice Flavor, Consistently Good
This Nicaraguan roast is one of the most easy-drinking coffees I’ve had in a while. It’s smooth, medium-bodied, and has just enough brightness to keep it interesting without being sharp. There’s a subtle nutty sweetness that comes through, especially when brewed with a pour-over or French press. Great for daily drinking with no bitterness, no fuss, just a solid, enjoyable cup every time. Definitely one I’ll keep around.

El Quetzal Coffee Co. for the win!
I tried the light roast and medium roast, both were delicious! Family owned and operated for generations, fast shipping, plus direct to consumer, checks all the boxes for me. Love at first sip!
