Royal jelly is a secretion produced by young worker bees from pollen and nectar. Bee larvae that have been eating royal jelly for about a week grow into queen bees. It is a special food given only to queen bees. Queen bees that are fed royal jelly grow to be 2 to 3 times larger than worker bees, live about 40 times longer than worker bees
