Great as a walking/hiking harness. For a long car ride, my big dog struggled with it at times. That's not really on the harness, it's more than my dog is hard to fit. I got a large and the harness fits great when out and about! Once my 90 pound, super deep-chested German Shepherd gets in the car, the harness shifts a bit as she tries to find a comfortable position. She chooses to lay down rather than sit, so it will twist under her, go loose around the neck, and tight on the lower chest. I'm not sure how much that affects the safety of it, but it's better than nothing. She spent 10 collective hours in the car with it and seemed fine, so we'll keep using it.
