Omi

I am extremely disappointed with Omi. I originally bought their hardware device because it was heavily marketed with the promise that its core usage would be free forever. Unfortunately, they have recently gutted the free plan, making it completely useless unless you upgrade to a paid subscription. This sudden change completely destroys the value proposition of the device. It makes absolutely no financial sense to buy a physical product based on a "free lifetime service" promise, only to have the company change the rules later and force you into a subscription. If you are considering buying an Omi device, be aware that their promises have an expiration date. I cannot recommend a company that pulls the rug out from under its early adopters

I tested it, and the device’s hearing capability is awful—even when speaking directly to it in a silent room. It’s not clear how it’s intended to function with ChatGPT; the entire product is utterly useless. Don’t spend your money on it. To add insult to injury, it’s non-returnable—which is incredibly frustrating. That’s $200 completely wasted.
