Marlon took a barista course at 17, came home, and started replanting his family’s farm with Pink Bourbon, Geisha, and Chiroso. He’s 21 now and runs The Three Coffee Farmers with his brothers Hemerson and Pedro.

His Pink Bourbon was fermented in sealed tanks, thermally shocked to stop the ferment, washed, then decaffeinated with sugarcane EA.

In the cup: orange cream soda, pink grapefruit, guava.

Wildfires burned through Guji for several years in the nineties.

Tesfaye Bekele grew up in coffee but had taken a detour into government work on the environmental side. The reforestation effort after the fires brought him back to it, and he started pushing coffee as the crop to replant with.

The government put up seedlings and land. Farmers still wouldn’t bite, because coffee takes years before it pays anything.

So he resigned, took a plot himself, and grew it.

That plot became Suke Quto, which now runs its own washing station and takes in cherry from 171 growers across Guji.

This is his natural, dried in whole cherry and decaffeinated by Swiss Water.

Blackberry first. Black tea underneath, dry and structured. Chocolate through the middle, red grape on the finish.

Sidekick just earned 92 points from Coffee Review, with 9s in body and flavor.

It’s a chocolate-first cup. The review notes milk chocolate, caramel, and roasted almond, with baked pear and orange zest adding some lift. Acidity is gentle and round, the mouthfeel plush and creamy, and the sweetness carries well into the finish.

Coffee Review summed it up as an inviting, full-bodied decaf, sweet at its core with enough fruit and citrus to keep it lively.

Sidekick is grown by the smallholder farmers of the Asprotimana Cooperative, spread across the towns around Pitalito in Huila, Colombia, at 1,300 to 1,800 meters. The cherries are washed at origin and decaffeinated with sugarcane EA, which lets the chocolate and brown sugar sweetness come through clean.

It’s our most popular daily driver, and now it keeps company with our Red Bourbon from Wilton Benítez, which scored 94 (the highest score Coffee Review has ever given a decaf), and our Finca El Paraíso Castillo at 93.

Just in: 93 points from @coffeereview ☕️

Our Finca El Paraíso Castillo just scored 93, with 9s in aroma, body, and flavor. For context: until our Red Bourbon scored 94 in April, 93 was the highest Coffee Review had ever given a decaf.

Tasting blind, their panel found strawberry, lychee, yellow peach, vanilla bean, and white chocolate, over a gently juicy acidity and a thick, syrupy body.

The lot comes from Finca El Paraíso in Cauca, Colombia, home to Diego Samuel Bermúdez and one of the most innovative processing teams in the country. Yeast inoculation in stainless steel bioreactors, sealed anaerobic fermentation, a thermal shock finish, sugarcane EA decaffeination. Every stage is built on purpose rather than left to chance.

Just dropped. Marlon Bolaños’ Pink Bourbon Decaf.

Marlon was 17 when he signed himself up for a barista course. He came home and started replanting the family farm.

He’s 21 now. He runs The Three Coffee Farmers in Acevedo, Huila with his brothers Hemerson and Pedro, and he handles quality control, fermentation, and sampling himself.

This is his Pink Bourbon.

Picked ripe. Sorted by density. Fermented in sealed tanks, then thermally shocked to arrest the ferment.
Washed. Dried on raised beds. Decaffeinated with sugarcane EA.

The cup leads with orange cream soda. Pink grapefruit sharpens it. Guava carries the finish.

8 oz. Light roast. Link in bio.

Our Red Bourbon from Wilton Benítez earned 94 points at @coffeereview, the highest a decaf has ever scored.

We asked @jon_grin to perfect a recipe for our Wilton. Jongrin trains coffee at @birdrockcoffeeroasters and is the reigning Comandante Champion USA.

He dialed it in on the V60 just for this coffee.

Meet Fresa Kalo: a bright, fruit-driven decaf with notes of strawberry, raspberry, and watermelon, backed by delicate floral character and a soft, gummy-like sweetness.

Sourced from neighboring farms in Pitalito, Huila, and processed on-farm by Los Nogales, this Chiroso lot goes through a full washed process before being decaffeinated with hot water.

After decaffeination, the beans spend roughly 24 hours reinfused in a cascara tea extract carrying hibiscus and strawberry botanicals, adding sweetness and complexity to the cup.

The result is vibrant and fruit-forward, with a soft, gummy-like sweetness that lingers through the finish.

Note: This coffee contains food-grade botanical aromatic extracts of hibiscus and strawberry, incorporated during fermentation. All aromatic components are approved for human consumption in the EU and US.
