Thrilled to have it
My first Martha Washington bedspread was a bit thinned after numerous washings over the 50 years we owned it, and some loops were pulled, no doubt from one or more of our pets who often slept on it. I was so happy to see that Bates is still making them, in the USA, and they are of the same durable quality that I was used to. I’ve seen the knockoffs - they would not do. I am thrilled with the weight of this bedspread, the way it looks, and the way it feels.

Family Heirloom
A Martha Washington’s Choice Bedspread was forever the iconic, antique bed cover in my Aunt and Uncle’s bedroom in Oklahoma since their wedding in the early 1950s. How it ever became a lost item during the estate settlement was a tragedy. So it was, that the GIFT of a replacement of this fabulous, sentimentally significant bedspread brought unexpected emotions to my dear, 70 year old cousin when this package was unwrapped last month. The new Martha Washington’s Choice Bedspread, created by Bates Mill in Maine, now covers the antique bed in my dear cousin’s guest bedroom. The exquisite joy that GIVING this special gift brought me, is beyond description. Thank you for the fabulous heirloom replacement. The new bedspread will certainly be a cherished family heirloom.
