The knife blocks build quality is nice it's very sturdy and made very well. However not all of my knives will fit as advertised I asked Dalstrong if my Valhalla series and most importantly to me my Shogun Nakiri knife would fit in the block, and I was told that it would. It does not, nor do many of my Valhalla series knives. Also my Omega series steak knives don't fit in the steak Knife slots as the slots are too short or the knives are too long which means the tips make contact with the aluminum plate on the bottom which could damage my knives. I'm a little disappointed that there are only two large slots and that my large knives do not fit. This block is made by the manufacturer of my knives and said to be a universal knife block, it is not universal, it will not fit all Dalstrong knives. I really wanted to love this thing as I love most of their products however it leaves me disappointed.

Great quality craftsmanship. Help sort and organized various knives & kitchen tools. Area looks great now!!! Highly recommend.
