We did a lot of research trying to figure out if this would be the best solution to extend our boondocking / dry camping. At the time we purchased there really wasn’t too many reviews out there for our specific target need. So this is a bit of a detailed review to help anyone figure out if this is right for them. Most important is the Elite 300 has a 30amp plug in to support our travel trailer. We had upgraded our battery power on our small Nucamp Tab 400 to 200ah and still have the stock rooftop solar panel. Many of the sites we end up with have a lot of tree cover. The battery upgrade managed to power our trailer 4 full days. That covers lights, water pump and our 12v fridge which is the main power hog. While some videos out there show the Elite 300 powering a trailer, we wanted this to actually recharge our house batteries. If we can last minimum 4-days, the bluetti would be a backup charger. The idea would be to recharge the trailer and get us another 4-days of power. We have done a number of test this camping season. Yes, the Bluetti will power the trailer. A test at home showed I can have the fridge on (in cycle mode) AND even managed to turn on the AC. This stated we could last a few hours. However, that really wasn’t our reason for this purchse. This past August we managed to put this through a pretty good test. We had a beautiful beachfront site but our trailer parked in dense pine trees. The week had variable clouds and our rooftop panel could only manage about watta charge at peak. We lasted 4 full days on our trailer battery power. When we got down to 25% we plugged in the Bluetti and by end of day it didn’t just “run the trailer” but charged us back to 95%. This brought the Elite 300 down to 5% but this allowed us another 4 days of dry camping. While we left on day 6, this shows that I would have a window of 4-days to recharge the Elite before asking it to recharge our trailer batteries again. I did use the solar panels that came with out package, again in variable clouds and into the pines, even trying to chase the sun we could only manage a max of 60 watts coming in. Once unplugged to the trailer, I could have moved the Elite panels on the beach to get a more powerful charge. After a full summer of using and testing, I’m very confident we made the smartest decision on the system that will extend our boondocking without spending vast amount of time and money expanding the system on the trailer itself.
